A.R. Rahman won the award for best musical score for Slumdog Millionaire at
the 66th Golden Globe Awards held at Los Angeles.
Rahman's song Jai Ho has won the award for Best Original Music Score. Slumdog Millionaire is not the first international assignment for A.R. Rahman: he has already composed for Heaven and Earth, a Chinese film; Shekar Kapur's Elizabeth; and musicals Bombay Dreams and The Lord of the Rings. But A.R. Rahman had quite a great deal of time for composing the music of these projects, whereas he took only three weeks to score Slumdog Millionaire's musical score! It is indeed a tremendous achievement!
Congrats to the composer.
We are proud of you!
